Fall is fabulous, isn’t it? The weather is just about perfect, and it’s time to get inspired! Here are several family-fun-fall activities that are sure to get you into the autumn spirit:
Go apple picking; there are several apple orchards nearby in Rainbow, Julian, and even a little further out. Most orchards have apple-related goodies including apple-cider donuts.
Bake a Fall Dessert; one of our favorites is an apple crisp. Chunky Chef has a great and easy recipe.

Take a fall camping trip – even in your own backyard; Fall weather is perfect for camping, whether you venture to a local campsite like Vail Lake or Launch Point, or even your own backyard. If you enjoy have a campfire, remember to pack everything you need for your s’mores!
Enjoy a Fall Festival or Fair; Visit Temecula Valley has a list of local festivals and fall activities. Check them out!
Enjoy the birds by creating homemade bird feeders; Feathered friends will appreciate the effort and the food! All you need is a pinecone, yarn or string, peanut butter, and bird seed. Tie the pinecone at the top with yarn or string. Cover the pinecone in peanut butter and roll in the birdseed. Hang outside and watch the birds feast!

Make some fall potpourri and simmer it on the stove; Combine the following ingredients in a saucepan, cover with water, and simmer over low:
- 1 apple quartered
- 1 orange, cut into slices
- 1/2 lemon – cut into slices
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2 Tbsp cloves (ground or whole)
- 1 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 tsp vanilla
