A Message from Board President, Todd Sieja
I would like to thank the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce, customers, and clients for attending the Ribbon Cutting on May 20th.
A good time was had by all, refreshments were shared, certificates of recognition presented, tours provided, and a gift certificate awarded to be spent at the Western Eagle Foundation Food and Home Goods Store.

Although we have been in Temecula for more than 30 years, today what matters most is carrying out the legacy of being a caring community partner that feeds those in need. The more people that know about us in Riverside County, the more we can help relieve food scarcity.
Western Eagle Foundation pays attention to the current CPI, our transportation costs and keeps our eye on projected food inventory shortages. In the Riverside area, as measured by the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U), prices for food at home rose 9.8 percent since a year ago, led by higher prices for meats, poultry, fish, and eggs (16.4 percent). The only food at home category with a price decrease over the past year was dairy and related products (-2.3 percent). Additionally, energy prices jumped 38.6 percent, largely the result of an increase in the price of gasoline.
With all of that above, Western Eagle Foundation takes seriously its job to buy direct the food needed by individuals and families and charge the lowest price possible, so that we can bring healthy food to your table and savings to your budget. Thank you for shopping here first and remember, store net proceeds help fund the programs that feed those in our surrounding communities in Riverside County.
HOW WE SERVE

Western Eagle Foundation believes in giving second chances and offers a work development program to volunteer youth, students, young adults, seniors, individuals with disabilities, veterans, those recovering from addictions, those court-ordered to serve community hours, enabling them to move forward toward their goals and increase their skill set in stocking, packing food boxes and shelving, sorting, pricing, cashiering, customer service, work ethics, business policies and procedures.
STAFF SPOTLIGHT
Cyndye Polsgrove is a long time employee of Western Eagle Foundation, who retired once, but came back to us and we are so glad she did!

Cyndye does all the food cost/pricing research and inputs data into the system, so that Western Eagle Foundation Food and Home Goods Store is always able to offer the lowest price in town!

Thank you for your service.

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHTS

Western Eagle Foundation welcomes volunteers to its work development program from TOWARD MAXIMUM INDEPENDENCE (TMI) “transforming lives” a nonprofit organization dedicated to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, who can absolutely enjoy the rewards of being a contributing member in society and have the satisfaction and pride that comes with having a job or volunteering.

Founded in 1981, TMI is a nonprofit agency providing innovative and trusted
services for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and veterans with disabilities.

SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT
This month of June 2022, we focus on talking to and speaking to GIVERS about the many programs of Western Eagle Foundation, such as the WEF Food Box, WEF Bulk Food Community Outreach, WEF Work Development program and collaborating partners who help us distribute food or food vouchers to food insecure children, youth, and families in the outlying communities of Riverside County.

Here are a few client testimonies:
  • A mom with 8 mouths to feed in her family (babies, toddlers, youth and grandparents) said “we saved them money by shopping at our store first”. The extra savings were so important to her and her budget as she needed it for gas for the car.
  • Another mom stops in regularly to buy snacks for her six kids, especially now that school is out saying “we are the best place in town for cheap snacks and it really helps stretch the family budget.”

Your donation matters and helps us buy food direct from suppliers, growers and farmers and pass the savings onto families who need food and a break in their budget.  Please visit our website at
westerneaglefoundation.org and DONATE today!
COMMUNITY COLLABORATIONS

Western Eagle Foundation collaborates with other organizations to coordinate and maximize services to clients. One of our community collaborators is Assistance League of Temecula Valley, who purchases $25.00 food vouchers (for WEF Food Box and meat) every month from Western Eagle Foundation to hand out as part of their “Operation Nonprofit Partnership” program that assists in providing needed services to community children, students, and families. Thank you!
