A Message from Board President and Chief Executive Officer, Todd Sieja
Calling all backyard Gardeners, Farmers and Growers! Do you have lemon, orange or grapefruit trees in your backyard? Extra tomatoes or vegetables from your garden? Western Eagle Foundation buys directly from food brokers the “staples” in each food box. Staples can include dry milk, hard noodles, rice and beans, canned fruits and vegetables, tomato sauce, canned tuna, peanut butter, soup, and other non-perishable items in stock.
Yet, we rely on donations from our suppliers, farmers, growers and NOW backyard gardeners for fresh fruit and vegetables. Western Eagle (WE) believes in community and helping each other out and what better way than for YOU to be able to donate extra fruits and vegetables from your own garden or fields.

So, stop by Western Eagle at 40940 County Center Drive, Temecula, CA and ask for Serena or Steve and they will direct you where to unload your gift of produce full of vitamins needed by our children. THANK YOU!
FACTS ABOUT VITAMIN C

One of its best-known functions, of course, is its role in supporting the body’s immune system. “Because vitamin C is an antioxidant and vital to maintaining overall health, it actually can help boost your little one’s immune system if they have the sniffles,” says Dr. Radhakrishnan. Antioxidants help reduce damage to cells from free radicals in the body. Vitamin C is also highly concentrated in immune cells, which suggests that it’s an immune-boosting agent.

Your child’s growing body can’t produce vitamin C on its own. So as a parent, you have to ensure that your child eats a wide variety of colorful fruits and vegetables every day — sometimes easier said than done! Plant sources, including tomatoes, peppers, broccoli and kiwi, are the best sources of vitamin C.

HOW WE SERVE

Check out Western Eagle Foundation on social media, where a picture of the latest food box offerings is posted every morning!
Food Boxes for All! Todd Sieja, CEO, buys directly from food brokers the food needed to fill the weekly food boxes of “staples”, such as canned vegetables and fruits, cereals, soups, proteins (tuna and peanut butter), dry noodles, rice and beans, crackers, dinner kits and tomato sauce. Additionally donated dairy, breads, fresh fruit, and vegetables are available to customize the food box for your family.

There is no income requirement to selecting a food box and each family or agency can pick up as many food boxes a day as they need for their families or community members. WE have families coming to visit from both Riverside and San Diego County.

VOLUNTEER HIGHLIGHTS

Western Eagle Foundation believes in giving second chances and works with volunteers ordered to provide Community Work Service (CWS). Work is performed with a registered non-profit (501(c)(3)) organization as a service to the community.

Pictured here is Elayna, doing great work keeping the shelves clean and organized.

Thank you!

SUPPORTER SPOTLIGHT
Western Eagle recently ran its “Bear Necessities” fundraising campaign, and we thank those of you who contributed either via our website donate page or through social media. It is because of YOU that WE can continue to provide low-cost food and home goods that helps families make the most of their budgets during these tough times.
Bear understands that especially with today’s inflation, many working families and seniors are unable to even provide the bare necessities
